We first worked with the Eley family in the late 1990’s and were delighted when they contacted us in 2005 to work with them again. Our office completed landscape plans, including sighting the home footprint on the lot, for their second custom home. Were again retained to administer the bidding and construction phases for this landscape project in Fullerton, California. The landscape style of this oversized lot is very natural with artistic highlights that are meaningful to the client. Features designed include: large custom pool with spa, water features, pool house patio, outdoor fireplace, outdoor kitchen, vine covered arbors with walkways throughout the property, open and covered verandahs, play areas, horse corral, vegetable garden with composting and recycling features, orchard, chicken and rabbit houses, outdoor storage areas, overflow parking, privacy walls and plantings creating many different garden styles, extensive landscape lighting, and a beautiful courtyard featuring a fish and turtle pond.
The landscape project was challenging because of our very specific ideas and vision for the garden, and the large size of the property. Rue Group did an amazing job of interpreting our ideas and designing a beautiful collection of gardens that fit perfectly with the unique architecture of the home while providing wonderful outdoor living spaces for our family and guests. The design process was fun and rewarding, from lines on paper to plants in the ground, Rue Group was at my side at every step. I remember the day I saw a garden designed by Kathryn Rue of Rue Group. I fell in love with the aesthetic and arrangement of every plant and I knew I wanted to work with whomever had designed that garden by the beach. I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Rue Group on two different properties since then and I live surrounded by gardens that I love.
